Hey, I’m Kelsey

My superpowers: seeing the big picture, hyping you up, and conjuring up off-the-beaten-path ideas for you.

My cred: I’m a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Certified Global Nurse Consultant. Over the past 20 years, I’ve built a career at the intersection of nursing and international work, which has brought me to over 50 countries - from rural prenatal clinics in Guatemala to operating rooms in Thailand (read more here!)

My path hasn’t been traditional - and I wouldn’t want it to be!! After navigating my own professional crossroads (and a life-altering cancer diagnosis), I became deeply committed to helping other nurses forge their own purpose-driven careers in global health.

I moved to Malawi in 2020, where I helped launch the country’s first Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Master’s program, led emergency nursing efforts during Cyclone Freddy, and trained local providers in critical care and preceptorship. I’ve lived the challenges of working abroad and seen firsthand the power of mentorship, cultural humility, and preparation.

And I also know that this type of support is both sorely lacking and incredibly needed! That’s why I created Global Nurse Pathways: to help other nurses build meaningful, sustainable global health careers that get them out in the world.

Through mentorship, career mapping, and practical guidance, I’ll help you bridge the gap between where you are and the global work you know you’re meant to do. This is the type of guidance I wish I had when I was starting out.
