Hi, I’m Kelsey

I’m a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Certified Global Nurse Consultant. Over the past 20 years, I’ve been developing a career at the intersection of healthcare and international work, traveling to over 50 countries and working alongside diverse communities in global health settings.

My journey has been anything but conventional. After experiencing the profound challenge of overcoming cancer and navigating my own professional crossroads, I became deeply committed to helping nurses transition into global health roles—roles that not only fuel their passion but also make a lasting impact on the world.

I’ve worked in Malawi, where I helped launch the country’s first Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Master’s program, led disaster relief efforts during Cyclone Freddy, and provided critical training to local nurses. Throughout my career, I’ve realized that mentorship is essential for navigating the complexities of global health work, and that’s why I created Global Nurse Pathways.

My mission is to guide nurses like you who are ready for change—to help you bridge the gap between your expertise and the global health opportunities waiting for you. Through personalized mentorship, career mapping, and ongoing support, I’ll empower you to take proactive, informed steps towards securing a role in global health that aligns with your values and aspirations.

If you're ready to make a real impact and chart your path toward a fulfilling global health career, let's connect.

Ready to get started, have questions, looking for something else?

  • Kelsey is an expert guide, mentor, support and inspiration for anyone interested in pursuing a Global Health career or experience. When I arrived to work in Malawi, she was always there to help with the daily living and work challenges in a LMIC. She was always available for questions and provided a realistic view of what to expect, and was there when I needed support with a gentle kindness, understanding and compassion. I am deeply grateful for her knowledge and enthusiasm for improving Global Health and improving the quality of life in underserved locations. Her passion and caring nature are contagious!!!

    - Patricia, CNM Educator, colleague in Malawi

  • Working with Kelsey has been one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences of my professional journey. What stands out most about Kelsey is her genuine interest in helping others succeed. She played a vital role in mentoring me in research, offering guidance and encouragement that elevated my skills and confidence. Kelsey’s ability to nurture talent, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative environment is worth emulating. I have no doubt that those who want to work with her will gain invaluable knowledge and mentorship as they prepare to make an impact globally. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a mentor with expertise and genuine care for her mentees’ success.

    - Netsayi, Child Health Nurse, PhD student, colleague in Malawi

  • Kelsey’s compassion and thoughtfulness towards fellow humans and inequities in the communities is what distincts her from others. I had the opportunity to connect with her when I was a nursing student, and her resilience inspired me to continue my higher studies after graduation and work for underserved populations. She has great communication and coaching skills through which she generously guides new nurses.

    - Inara, UofA MPH student from Pakistan, mentee

  • A few years back, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and Kelsey helped me navigate an incredibly difficult season of my life. She acted as a mentor to me and was always available for any questions that I had. She had been through something similar (and had a medical background which I did not have), which made me feel more at ease about the diagnosis and treatment when I would ask her questions. I would definitely recommend working with Kelsey- she is the best!!!
