Hello
I’m Kelsey — a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Certified Global Nurse Consultant. My desire to make a meaningful impact through healthcare began nearly 20 years ago during a community service trip to Nicaragua.
Nursing is the ideal fusion of my drive to serve and my fascination with human connection. My journey has taken me to 50+ countries across six continents: from teaching and living with locals in Tanzania to shadowing in surgery in Thailand and volunteering in prenatal clinics in rural Guatemala. As a nursing student at Duke University, I served as co-president of Nursing Students Without Borders.
I’m so glad you’re here!
From 2020-2023, I worked as a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Educator with Seed Global Health in Malawi, where I helped launch the country’s first Master’s program in pediatric critical care nursing, co-designed an innovative preceptorship program, and coordinated small scale disaster relief aid for thousands of displaced individuals during the devastation of Cyclone Freddy.
My journey to build a career in global health hasn’t always been straightforward and researching paths into global health often left me confused and with more questions than answers.
Global Nurse Pathways was born out of this realization: that many nurses, like me, are eager to work internationally but lack the guidance and resources. I founded this organization to bridge that gap, helping nurses navigate the complexities of a global health career with confidence.
With experience across clinical nursing, global health fieldwork, and nurse mentorship, my mission is to provide the guidance and tools I wish I’d had, making it easier for nurses to build impactful, fulfilling careers in global health.
My approach combines all my training and life experience to guide nurses who are open-minded, curious, and ready for change. Alongside my professional nursing and global health background, I bring insights gained from my yoga teacher and birth doula certifications, as well as my journey through young adult cancer treatment. This unique blend of expertise and life experience allows me to support clients with intention, empowerment, and a broad perspective on life.
I believe in guiding each nurse on a personalized path that aligns with their values and goals, fostering resilience, purpose, and adaptability. My goal is to help you create a well-informed career trajectory that not only impacts the world but also brings fulfillment and balance to your own life.
With Global Nurse Pathways, you’re not just getting a mentor; you’re gaining a partner who has lived the highs and lows of global health work, seeks to understands your unique journey, and is committed to helping you succeed. If you’re ready to align your passion with purpose and take actionable steps toward a global health career, let’s connect.
What’s next for me? These days, I’m still living and traveling internationally. When I’m not working on developing my business, I’m hiking in the mountains, cooking, and dreaming up new adventures.
